Veronnie Yonkers Obituary
Veronnie Yonkers, age 84, passed away on March 25th, 2026. She was the daughter of the late Sarkes and Dolores Stephen. Loving wife of the late Robert Yonkers. Cherished mother of Jennifer (Peter) Vanderheid, Joseph (Sheri) Hugan, Elizabeth (Barrie) Grice, Kimberly (Edward) Crouch, and Bethanie (Matthew) Davis. Grandmother of Zoe, Allayna, Payne, Michael, Jason, Ryan, Austin, Blake, Cooper, Casey, Maddison, and Evelyne. Great-grandmother of Calliope and Issac. Sister of George (Pat) Stephen, and Georgette (Micheal) Christy. She will also be missed by many nieces, nephews, and friends.
She was an avid reader who found great joy and comfort in books, always eager to explore new stories and ideas. She had a deep love for gardening, taking pride in nurturing her plants and creating spaces of beauty. Each day, she looked forward to her crossword puzzle, delighting in the challenge of keeping a sharp mind. Above all, she cherished traveling with her family, making lasting memories and sharing in the simple happiness of being together.
Friends may visit at Fretthold Funeral Home Inc., 1241 Oliver Street, North Tonawanda, corner of Ward Road on Wednesday, April 1st from 5:00pm - 7:00pm and Thursday from 12:00pm - 2:00pm. A funeral service will take place immediately following, at 2:00pm. Burial at White Chapel Memorial Park.
