Lillian R. (nee Rockenbrock) (Vanderheid) Schulte, age 91, of the City of Tonawanda, Monday, October 14, 2013, surrounded by her loving family. A lifelong resident of Tonawanda, she was the wife of William J. Vanderheid, who died in 1983; mother of the late Ann and Mark Vanderheid; and sister of the late Carl Rockenbrock and Jane O. Wollaber. Lillian was a longtime member of First Presbyterian Church, where she was very active in Circle II of the church. She was also a member of Tonawandas\\\\\\\' Unit 264 American Legion Auxiliary and was a very proud Gold Star Mother.
She is survived by her husband of 26 years, Clyde C. Schulte; six children, William (Vera) Vanderheid of Mason, OH, Nancy (Gary) Metzger of Tonawanda, Timothy (Carol) Schulte of Grand Island, Anne (Paul) Holdaway of Rochester, Mark (Gina) Schulte of Tonawanda and Lizbeth (Jay) Booth of Grand Island; five grandchildren, Christine (Christopher), William, Julie, Jenna and Mark; two great-grandchildren, Alexandra and Madeline; and several other grandchildren, great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Friends may call on Thursday from 2-4 PM & 6-8 PM at John O. Roth Funeral Home, Inc., 25 William St. (between Morgan & Broad Sts.) in Tonawanda. A private burial will be in Elmlawn Cemetery. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, October 18th at 7:00 PM in First Presbyterian Church, 149 Broad St. in Tonawanda. Friends invited. Flowers gratefully declined. Memorial contributions may be made to Circle II of First Presbyterian Church.
